This early-game splash damage tower offers affordability and the potential to stun units based on its crosspath. However, it is widely regarded as the weakest tower in the game. The Paintballer outshines it in every niche, providing better DPS, hidden coverage, and overall utility. Its lack of reliability in damage output, inability to handle hidden units effectively, and dependence on full investment into an X-4 Bomber crosspath to make its stun ability marginally useful leave it without a defined role. As a result, this tower is rarely worth considering for any serious strategy.

Upgrades


Top path provides hidden detection along with respectable range and damage, making it a reasonable choice for early-game coverage. However, it falls short when compared to other towers in terms of hidden unit effectiveness. In fact, its hidden coverage is only better than that of the Heavy Gunner and Mortar, leaving it insufficient for handling more challenging hidden units as the game progresses. As hidden units become more tanky later in the match, a low-DPS AOE tower like this one simply cannot compete, making it a poor investment for sustained hidden unit defense.


The bottom path offers the ability to stun enemy units with each attack and provides the higher DPS option for the tower. However, the stun effect is minimal at its X-3 upgrade, lasting only a brief quarter of a second. It's not until the X-4 upgrade that the stun duration becomes long enough to have a noticeable impact on gameplay. Despite this improvement, the investment required to make the stun effect viable is not justified, especially when compared to more cost-efficient and effective alternatives like the Paintballer, which outperforms this path in terms of overall value and utility.
